If I counted right, there are 82 post-season spots available counting 35 non-playoff bowls and 12 playoff teams. TeamRankings gives Ohio a 62.9% chance to be eligible. The sum of team eligibility on their projection page is 84.9.

never understood why bowls are part of the playoffs. college football is so dumb.

These are now all over the place. There is no longer anyone predicting a rematch against Jax St. but not we have one with South Alabama.
