The Blue Ribbon Preview is out for digital download. Here are some nuggets for Ohio. Can't say many of them are surprises.

-Simmons will be the focal point
-Mitchell and KDA project to be the starting guards
-Need Kuany and Burris to make jumps from last year. The comments about the two sound more confident towards Kuany but that's not a knock on Burris
-Ledegen and Makitan probably rounding out the starting five. Ledegen's shooting percantages at Okapi Aalst went .571/.411/.813
-Brogan a "pleasant surprise". And he's a point guard. Mom played in the WNBA. Dad was a McDonalds All-American in the 80s and played a season at USC and three at Pepperdine
-Brogan being a dual citizen allowed him to be with the team in the summer. International students must be full time in person to participate in team activities, which explains why the group of Makitan, Ledegen, Petkov, and Icke were not around

I can't take this preview seriously if they don't call Burris by his real name: Walking Bucket

Do better Blue Ribbon.

I'm super high on Brogan. 6'5 but plays like a PG.

The shooting percentages aren't eye-watering 45/33/70 but they're plenty good as long as he's not the #1 or #2 option (yet).

But the dude is a stat-sheet STUFFER. 17.7 pts, 6.3 reb, 7.4 ast, 2.2 stl. Boals loves those PG's who do it all.

Looks eerily similar to a line of
16.8 pts, 6.4 reb, 7.4 ast, 1.4 stl (19-20 Jason Preston)
15.7 pts, 7.3 reb, 7.3 ast, 1.5 stl (20-21 Jason Preston)
19.6 pts, 6.0 reb, 4.1 ast, 1.7 stl (21-22 Mark Sears)

If he's willing to play SF rather than backup PG, giving our 3 guard lineup some length - he could carve out a serious spot on this roster IMO.

Never thought about him playing SF but that's a good idea. If you look at his HS recruiting profile, it has him listed as a SF. I definitely could see him being a 'gadget' type of player.

No, I'd list Brogan as a guard that way when he sees the floor with KDA and Mitchell some on here will have their heads explode with Boals playing three guards again....or maybe four guards if Pav is cleared!

Boals thought out-of-the-box with his recruiting this year, so why not go all the way and try the Grinnell system with 5-and-5 substitutions? I think we have the depth to do it.

Thats one of the things I love about this roster construction. We've got genuine depth in each position, with the size to play across multiple positions. Nobody has to play out of position. For the first time in I dont even know how long. If you want the extra PT, you may find yourself up or down, but you're not giving up much size in order to get that PT. I wouldn't make Kuany play 25 minutes at 3, but I can absolutely see him running around for 10 mins a game at that spot while Simmons and Makitan hold down the 4/5. Burris/Petkov/Ledegen... 2/3. Ledgen can also play 4 if we have Mitchell/KDA/Petkov on the floor at the same time. There are a lot of options. And the options aren't being forced. We're trying to find time for these guys. And if Jack is back... we're only getting stronger, and likely the "2's" will be playing 3 for stretches to make room for Jack/KDA together.
